School Surveillance:
The only way to start making schools safer is by installing security cameras. While cameras are good for documenting facts and footage after an event happens, cameras can also help prevent school campuses from damage and possibly other acts of vandalism. School campuses are also constantly a threat to younger children, whose parents and teachers have to worry about kids being kidnapped or other worse case scenarios. In high schools, security cameras can help with drug and violence prevention. Most schools are now installing metal detectors, electronic locks, and other advanced technology. Cameras are a better way to monitor hallways and entrances to protect students, staff and property. Security cameras make people accountable, they prove to authorities who did what and can show actual evidence if needed. Cameras can be placed in public areas like cafeterias, administrative offices, gymnasiums and outdoor areas like playgrounds and sports fields.
Outdoor surveillance cameras in parking lots can help protect older students and staff when leaving school late or arriving early. These cameras can also discourage break-ins and vandalism during school hours. Colleges are open to the public and also need security cameras to keep the campus safe. College campuses feature a variety of buildings, each with their own security needs. Fixed cameras can be strategically placed in order to protect valuables like computers, sound equipment, trophies and books. Video surveillance helps to secure these facilities, watching for suspicious behavior and unauthorized access. Schools using video surveillance are more likely to have better behavior because they know they are being monitored. Schools also need to monitor the visitors that are coming on to the campus. The only way to do this is to monitor the visitor registration. By not installing a security camera to watch visitors, schools risk letting in unwelcome, un-registered, un-seen, and possibly dangerous visitors into the school.
