With almost everyone using the Internet as their means of communication and business, it is becoming essential to protect it. As more users access the Internet and as companies expand their networks, the challenge to provide security for internal networks becomes increasingly difficult. Companies must determine which areas of their internal networks they must protect, learn how to restrict user access to these areas, and determine which types of network services they should filter to prevent potential security breaches.  Why is IP Network security important not only to businesses, but also to the regular daily users? We use computers for everything from banking and investing to shopping and communicating with others through email or chat programs. While most information you share on-line may not be "top secret," you probably do not want strangers reading your email, using your computer to attack other systems, sending forged email from your computer, or examining personal information stored on your computer. When someone has control of your computer it gives them the ability to hide their true location as they launch attacks.
